We are going to Disney in May. We are meeting some friends there so our kids can kind of hang out and enjoy some parks together (it's going to be a surprise!).

But last night I get a message from my buddy asking about Exotic Driving Experience down there. I had not heard about it before, or at least that I can remember. So I start looking into it. Seems pretty decent. I could drive a GTR around a track for about $250 after everything.

Then this morning, I do a little more digging. I start to read reviews on Trip Advisor. The negative ones stick out to me. I read them, and it sounds more like a student driving class than a driving "experience".

I understand they are concerned about safety, and can not just let anyone jump into a super car and go balls to the wall driving. But it sounds like they have a throttle control to cut the power, tell you to brake a lot, and keep things nice and calm and slow. I am guessing maybe the "experience" weighs more on the super car side of things, rather than the driving of said cars.

So anyway, anyone on here ever been to this? Is it worth the 3 hours or so? Or should I just take my own car for a spirited drive around the back roads of my home town and save the cash?

I am going to disney world in april. I have never been to a disney land let alone an entire world so I hope it lives up to the expectations I had as a youth seeing all my friends go. I realize I have contributed nothing to the topic at hand.

LOL
Disney World is FANTASTIC! And this is coming from someone who hates people, hates being around people, hates being bothered to do things, and would usually rather be sitting around relaxing on vacation.

It is awesome with kids in tow, or without. I have been with my kids a few times and me and my wife have gone alone. Both times were awesome.

I'm sure you will have a good time.

I went there over thanksgiving, I was driven in the superleggera Gallardo, and my father drove the 458. The course isn't all that good, but I would rather go there to drive an exotic(that I would probably never own), than complain about the track. Yes, the 3 hours is worth it, IMO.

I have, I rode the R8. according to the telemetry, the fastest the car went was 120 MPH, over 3 laps.

So you rode in it, or drove it?

My friends and I spent the better part of the day around that track, and it was a blast. The people that work there are very friendly and knowledgeable...They also want you to have fun. If they think you can handle it, they will suggest you push harder. They do suggest hard braking into the first set of twisties, but that is after a period of WOT. I'd probably do it again now that I know how it works.

Okay. I am looking to do the driving thing, not a ride along. Not paying that much to have someone else drive me around in a fast car. I can do that here locally. HAHA!

I did it at the beginning of 2013. My wife actually arranged it around our Disney vacation as a surprise to me. She had it set up so I could drive the 458 Italia. So, a little note, I have actually driven on that track twice a few years ago they did the Indy car experience. It was in an older Indy car with a less powerful honda engine. About 200 up or so, plus they didn't let you shift. It was start in third and drive to build speed. Now, having said that I had a lot of fun, but way more fun doing the exotic driving experience.

They do require you to go through a safety presentation. That was maybe a half hour at the most. Then you go outside and waited our turn. There were about 6 people in my group and about the same in the group ahead of us. After the group ahead of us finished they brought us out to the cars for pictures with the cars. They try to sell you the pictures they take with their cameras, but they did let my wife take her photos.

Next up was the drive. They give you a helmet, and run the the rules one more time. If you spin it or get of of control they will limits the throttle and end your drive. Having said that, I never had an issue. There is a staff member in the passenger seat (driver coach), who really was just giving me pointers the whole time. Told me when to get on throttle, when to brake, and when to turn in to get the fastest lap time. They have a go pro camera in the car so you can watch the run afterward. Again, they try to sell you the video. My wife took video of it off the monitor. The last thing they gave me after it was done was a print out of the top speed and the lap times. I had a blast, and definitely recommend it.

Hopefully my pic doesn't get Tiger'd but I'll try to attach one.

I did the Richard Petty driving experience for my 18th birthday. It was amazing. The only time I did not have full power was on the first lap and in the pit lane. In between I was in control and loved it. I maxed out at 139 on the F430 scuderia but was faster in the GTR. If it is run by the same people do it. Also side not the Lamborghinis don't like it when you are tall (over 6'4").
